Healing through Performing Arts

The  “One step Beyond” initiative  intends to bring in many creative spaces to converge find a common connect our holistic well being. Our first webinar event on 30th January 2021 was “ Healing through performing arts” where we had four performing artists from Berlin, Zurich Tallin and Dhaka respectively focusing various aspects of Hollistic therapies through dance and music. Our second session on May 22nd, 2021  was on “fusion elements of music and it’s holistic impacts” where it focused on various elements within the various genre of music which infuses spirituality and healing aspects. We had four acclaimed Musicians and music researchers from Istanbul, Jerusalem, Karachi and Dhaka respectively
 

We have within our network of friends and colleagues from very diverse professions ranging from mind yogis, Intl fashion designers , Architects and Fengshui masters, holistic coaches and practitioners , dancers, actors , film makers, eclectic musicians, who are coming together to share their Creative as well as holistic insights to help us grow and evolve to help become more enlightened souls.

The theme was “ Healing through Performing Arts” where it focused on the linkages of various dance such Sufi Dervish dance and music  as well Pelvic and dance therapy for overall balance and wellbeing of our minds and bodies was highlighted by Ms. Bahar Sarah  

Yogic dance and looking at the various connects such as Vagus Nerve and dance rhythmic movements was discussed by Ms. Nadja Haas.
 
Different aspects of performing arts with having music and dance as an effective tool for coaching school children for better performance was discussed by Ms. Anu Tahemaa.
 
Bangla sufi tunes and its Hollistic impacts was discussed by Mr. Naseem Ali Khan

Regarding the event ” Healing through Performing Arts” held on

30th January 2021 , unfortunately the recording into iCloud ran into
an error and malfunction and very sadly didnot get recorded.
 
Enclosed links under the Speaker section of the four discussants. The event had four following discussants and  it ran for 1 hour 15 minutes with 25 participants from various countries in Asia, Middle East and Europe.

Fusion Elements of Music and its Hollistic Impacts

The Second Zoom Webinar Event which was held on 22nd May 2021 was “Fusion Elements of music and its Holistic Impact” and it was fully recorded. The event had four discussants as follows and it ran for 1 hour 40 minutes originally planned for 1 hour 15 minutes due to increased participation in Q&A. We had 40 participants from various countries from both South Asia, Middle East and Europe.
 
The event focused and introduced the Sufi conception and spiritual meaning of music and its significance as a medium for spiritual training. insights into how great Sufis like Rumi understood and utilized music was discussed. Symbolism and spiritual meaning of three fundamentals of Sufi music: perde (pitch), makâm (mode) and usûl (rhythmic cycle) and its correlations to musical training was discussed by Dr. Savas S. Barkcin.
 
Collaboration within dance, theatre combining  the five styles : classic & pop Arab music , traditional folks music, popular songs and sufi ones through modern compositions was shared and discussed by composer and founder Mr. Said Murad of Sabrine Band from Jerusalem.

Musical journey and specific interest in the cultural confluence of North Indian classical music and the Islamic Sufi traditions that has contributed towards the syncretic tradition of the sub-continent was discussed by Ms. Wajiha Naqvi.

“Sufi mystic music from Bangladesh.” was discussed by Mr. Naseem Ali Khan.
 
Upcoming Event tentatively scheduled for August 21st at 3 pm BDT ( GMT + 5 )
 
 
The theme of the Webinar is “ East meets West through music” . We are planning to have four  noted artists from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Denmark and UK and is currently in discussion with them. I will be pleased to share their names and link once I have the final confirmation . 
 
In the upcoming webinar we would be looking at the fusion elements between western and eastern jonre of music and dance that has had significant impact to bring them closer culturally with beautiful blends in both acoustics, Rhythm and lyrics.
